Every product development engineer needs a basic set of vehicle data before a design can begin. Manual measurements of physical vehicles is being replaced by digital measurement, greatly improving the quality of information.

The AIC has acquired a fleet of vehicles and will begin a systematic documentation of key parameters for each vehicle. This will enable direct integration into CAD/CAM systems, speeding up the development process. The vehicle database will be the most comprehensive of its kind, which will reduce the need for individual companies to purchase vehicles, lowing the development costs for new product.
